Lind was the former manager of the Erv Lind Florists of Portland, OR, one of the top teams in the Northwest that won the ASA national title in 1944 and 1964. His team played in 14 nationals, placing fourth or higher 11 times, and five second place finishes. The other three times the team finished fifth, sixth and seventh. An annual award is named after Lind and is given each year to the Outstanding Defensive Player in the ASA Women’s Major Fast Pitch National Championship. Lind was elected to Northwest Region 15 Hall of Fame in 1984. The softball field at Normandale Park in Portland, OR was dedicated the Erv Lind Field on July 16, 1965. His teams had a win-loss record of 1,113-324 for a winning percentage of .774 from 1937-1964. Lind died in 1964. He was inducted into the National Hall of Fame in 1985.
