USA Softball Region 9

Ron Derr served as member of the National Umpire staff from 1976-1977. He started umpiring in 1935 and umpired in eight ASA nationals. Derr was the Portland UIC for 10 years and held the same position for the State of Oregon for 15 years. He also served as the UIC at eight ASA nationals. Derr passed away May 8, 1980 at the age of 75 years. He was a retired manager of the Oregon Casket Company and the Crown Casket Company. Derr was inducted into the National Hall of Fame in 1977.
