Jack has been a major part of USA Softball and the Pacific Northwest for 48 years
having started in 1972. His work crosses all of our programs from Slow Pitch to JO
Fast Pitch to Men’s Fast Pitch as an umpire, UIC , clinician, and event coordinator.
His work includes NCAA softball as well.
Those who have worked with Jack describe him as ONE OF THE BEST, BEST OF THE
BEST, PROFESSIONAL, RESPECTED, ROLE MODEL, SELFLESS, HIGH CHARACTER,
INTEGRITY, MENTOR, AND GIVES BACK TO THE COMMUNITY AND UMPIRES.
Jack’s USA Softball umpiring career is second to none. He worked the Men’s A and
B Fast Pitch National in 1995 & 2013, Men’s 40, 45 and 50 Fast Pitch National in
2006, and the Men’s Major Fast Pitch National an amazing six times- 2002, 2007,

the 2015 Men’s 60 and over Fast Pitch National.
Jack’s career includes far more than umpiring. In 1985 he became a state district
deputy UIC followed by his appointment as a zone deputy UIC, state district UIC,
and Seattle deputy UIC.
He was a clinician/instructor at State, Regional or National umpire schools ten
times from 1989- 2006. He will no doubt help instruct at the upcoming NUS in
2020 in Seattle.
Umpire to UIC to clinician to event coordinator to mentor- Jack’s done it ALL.
